"Article Thread"

Many great articles are posted daily. The majority do not receive any feedback or comments. Would it be feasible to create a folder under each of the topics for these "articles"? and maybe hang them as a sticky? Or maybe under the "article" subforum?

After a couple days I find myself sifting through endless articles to find discussions. The articles contain good info, but they seem to overload the subforum.

Many of the posts that contain member participation find themselves buried.

My $.02

I understand what you are saying. we are looking for an alternative way to organize them so that they are separated from discussion-only threads. I think they will still show up on the home page though.

I'll stop posting articles to allow for more discussion based threads.

I think the articles are good. It wasn't my intent to slow or stop the articles. Thanks for the effort in posting them. They add value to the forum.

ok. regarding grouping the articles, these are the alternatives we have:
  1. I create a Knowledge Base subforum for each forum. disadvantage is that number of forums basically double instantaneously; or
  2. I create ONE Knowledge Base forum where I group ALL non-original articles having 0 or 1 posts. problem here is that articles are not categorized based on subject (stocks, bonds, scalping, etc) anymore; or
  3. I leave the articles where they are BUT stick them; or
  4. any other alternatives?
regardless of which option we choose, all threads will still show up and rotate on the home page.

let's get some feedback....

Now I feel pretty flaky. I brought up the issue, but do not have a solution. Bad joojoo.

My only suggestion would be a combination of your second course of action. Can threads be re-named? For example:

Trading-"name of thread"
Technical Analysis-"name of thread".
etc.

Is that possible?

it's possible but I would rather not do that as it would screw up my google rankings. I'm gonna stick them and some will be merged into one longer article. either way they would still show up on the home page, so unless you are checking for updates through an RSS feed, you would still see them.
