Dollar Continues Stumble Against Euro, Dipping to Record Low Before Clawing Back

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) -- The dollar stumbled to another record low in European trading Thursday before clawing back against the euro.

The 13-nation euro peaked at $1.3797, then settled around $1.3768 in afternoon European trading. That exceeded its previous record, set early Wednesday, of $1.3784, and compared with the euro's rate in New York late Wednesday of $1.3761............................

what's happening to the dollar depicts the underlying state of the US economy. Scary……

with the recent worsening of the subprime mortgages affair, I wouldn't be surprised to see the dollar accumulate even further losses against other currencies.

dollar is recovering from its all-time lows. Still, nohing to brag about…a lot of uncertainty about the US economy….
