Governmente Bonds, a safe harbour (a window that looks out in Europe)

Small investors make a comeback. Faced with turbolence on a Stock Exchange under pressure from the sub-prime crisis in high risk loans in the united States, Government secutities are back in fashion.
Snubbed in the past as unexiting, the are now experiencing renewed prestige, not just because ad average yield offer borders on 4% bau, above all, because of their absolutely guaranted return. Therefore ther is a growth in demand for Treasury bills and bonds "made in Italy".
It's the same story in Germany, where the return on the 10-year Bund has been declarated at 4%.
This trend en masse, though, is primarily evidence of a search on the part of investors for a safe haven; one that's guaranted; a search for issues, in this case the State, with a high credit standing, and therefore totally above suspicion. While Berlin is triple-A with all the rating agencies, Rome is A+ (Standard % Poor's), Aa2 ( moody's ) an AA- (Fitch), representing, in short, an inferior rating for Italy but at all events, zero risk for subscrivers and, with increased interest rates in prospect, new rewards on the horizon.
