Maybe this will help...its directly off yahoo answers....
"The reason why the Bank of NY website does not list Canadian stocks is because that site lists ADR's and ADS's. By definition Canadian stocks cannot be ADR's or ADS's, so thus no listing. If you are interested in Canadian stocks traded on just the 3 major US Exchanges, try going to those Exchange websites. For instance, the American Stock Exchange lists all their listed companies by location. Go to www.amex.com, click the "equities" tab on the menu on the left, then "listed companies". It will allow a search by state or international. Click the international, as most of those listed are Canadian. For the NYSE, go to www.nyse.com. On the menu down the left side, click "about the nyse", then "listed companies", then "listed company directory". From there, a map pops up with one of the options being "Canada". Click that and it will give you 91 Canadian companies listed on the NYSE. For NASDAQ, go to www.nasdaq.com. On the menu on the left side, go all the way to the bottom to "listed companies". Click that and a new screen will load. Scroll down a little bit to the area headed "Nasdaq listed companies". One of the options there is "Nasdaq listed international companies by region". Use the drop down menu to bring up "North America", then "C". All the companies listed there will be Canadian." Leth
