is scalping still a feasible strategy?

you know, sometimes I question myself whether maybe there are "easier" ways to make a living at trading than scalping.

I mean, with commissions and other trading costs biting into quick but small scalping profits, I think it's a really hard way to make some meaningful money with trading.

Does any other trader feel like this? have you ever thought about giving up scalping in favor of a more relaxed and less frequent trading strategy?

scalping is definitely not an easy way to make money at trading. But it can make LOTS of money to the right trader….you need a lot of experience in scalping under your belt to make nice money with it….

some people scalp for a living successfully while others lose money, as with any trading strategy. Those who are successful swear by it and claim it's easier to make money at shorter time scales. But how many traders are actually successful at scalping?

one thing to keep in mind:

commissions

every trade has either a fixed cost(ticket) or variable cost(percentage of your order value). If you scalp at shorter time scales, trading costs are relatively much bigger than with a less high frequency trading strategy.

scalping is definitely becoming harder and harder for me. As a matter of fact, I'm seriously considering other less stressful trading strategies.

no strategy works forever in trading. Scalping HAS become harder these days. That is why it's extremely important to always have a nicely diversified portfolio of trading strategies, so that when one of them stops working, you can rely on the other ones. Together with good money management "habits", that is another way to remain in the trading game and increase your chances of long term trading success.

scalping is a great way to make your broker rich. if scalping upsets you or makes you question it in any way...its more than likely not the method for you. there is always time to test out other methods that better fit your personality.

scalping is definitely brokers' preferred trading strategy but in the right hands, it can be a gold mine.

I scalp equity i play the futs also(e-mini). You can make alot of money doing this. I have been trading for 10 years and have seen changes over the years. I will be honest here and have seen alot come and go. And the ones who didn't make it didn't listen.
