Are Tick and Trin important tools for scalping?

hello all,

I read in a book that the Tick and Trin indicators can be used as very valuable tools for scalping. Does anyone use them in their scalping strategy at all?

thanks in advance

I scalp mainly listed stocks. I watch the TICK and TRIN of the NYSE very closely, but I pay more attention to bid/ask, size, and depth. In other words, tape reading. Try putting them in your software and watch how they interact with stock prices.

you can get the real time value of the TICK and TRIN on most charting packages (Esignal, etc).

TICK and TRIN as other indicators are nice tools. However, don't neglect other more important trading concepts among which are price and volume analysis.

And don't forget to read http://www.trading-lab.com/forums/tr...imple-t81.html

if you can read volume, you are set. Volume analysis tells a lot more than any indicator ever will.
