I think you are on target here, CT.
This is the classic problem of the telecommuter — and the telecommuter's boss.

Rules to live by in both working and trading from home:
  • Have a dedicated space.
  • Have a dedicated phone and computer.
  • Have someone else in the house to take care of:
    • the doorbell,
    • the kids,
    • the home phone.
If you don't follow these rules, judge your environment by results.
If you are getting the job done, you have a good environment.
If not, do the necessary — which may mean following the above rules.

I trade from home and IMHO for a newbie not a good idea for a trader with some EXP you can focus much better. I live in NY and have looked at many office's and not one could get me to trade there. Most are like a frat house. My phone and the doorbell i ignore till after 4pm est.
