Weekly/Monthly stock picking challenge

What do you guys/gals think about having a Trading Lab Stock picking challenge? I use to frequent another site for learning, until joining up here. Now, I really only use the other site to participate in the stock picking challenge.

IMO if we had some of the seasoned veterans questioning the newbies, or newbie questioning newbie, on their choices, choice of stock is based on what reasoning, technicals, news, candle formation, etc... this challenge could be even better.

Of course we need the approval of our supreme leader Alchemist, but he seems like a pretty reasonable guy.

So let's vote, all those in flavor say, "My stock will kick your stocks A$$!!!!!" or a simple yes or no will suffice...

Any other suggestions or ideas on how we can make this interesting are encouraged. Thanks now, for your time and input.

Sounds good, but I'd like for it to be realistic where we could specify a buy and sell point, the post time stamp would enable verification of stock availability at that price. I'd also suggest a $5 pps and 1 million avg daily volume requirement. Allowing the small volume stocks just makes it a game without much reality of actually making real money on the trade. The point of the contest should be to learn, not necessarily to win just for the sake of bragging rights, that won't help make money.

Since there are not too many posters here at the moment it would be pretty easy to do this ourselves in a new thread each week.

Some of you may have some tweaks or other suggestions.

I don't normally enter these (stock picking contests) because the parameters do not fit my style (scalp/intra-day). Nothing wrong with it, but I'll agree with Blonde's input. I would also think that an annotated chart is possible on this forum if TA is used, valuation data or mindset if fundies are used, and news/events if news/momo techniques are used.

I say these in the context of "learning and sharing" as opposed to just dropping the ticker and go. There is much to learn by analyzing and projecting a 5 day trade....I'll give it a shot as well.

Limit orders...or a "poster" specified entry and exit will be a pain in the ass for the mod, but the value and education would be invaluable.

I'll beat Blonde to it..................Oil.

Edit: My participation may be limited, so look at my suggestions ONLY if they make sense to the group.

Great input for a Blonde.. haha You have a valid point, this challenge, should be to learn. I'm not sure how to go about implementing your ideas. My suggestion would be to get together with Soverus and pm Alchemist with the how to's... Thanks for your support and suggestions.
