That is a sad but good article. I initially chose the $50k because I figured in the other scenario that the cost of goods/inflation would reduce the purchasing power of my $100k. (assuming that $250k was the top salary level available to anyone) I quickly changed my mind after reading that cog were the same.

I'm going to do that experiment with the $100 split.
